Just a couple of FYI's...
Peanut Colson mentioned an early VCR at the RCA plant his dad worked at. Some of you might recall that the full name of RCA was RCA Victor Company.
The VCR format that won out was the VHS; pretty much obsolete now but sold billions in the day. The VHS format is owned by JVC. JVC stands for Japanese Victor Company. Yes, it was a subsidiary of RCA before being acquired by Panasonic. US fail.
The technology that we now call High Definition TV was originally developed in the late 70's-early 80's by Zenith with a grant from the DOD. Zenith was an American company at the time. Now that High Def TV is big business, how much High Def equipment are we manufacturing in the US? Little, if any. US Fail.
Things like this tick me off! We developed the technology and someone else makes fortunes from it. :rant
