Prayer requests

After some glimmers of hope at the end of of the day Tuesday, and for part of Wednesday. The neurological assessment is that too much time passed between the infarction and her receiving medical attention. Successive ultrascans and testing have also revealed that the damage to her heart is too great to overcome.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you everyone.

Never give up! Things change!
After being told the neurological damage was to severe for her ever recover, cardiology not able to do procedures because of her neurological status things changed! Whatever was happening neurologically seems to have improved significantly. Yesterday mom seemed to respond slightly to me right before I left the hospital. I was unsure how much it was me wanting her to and how much it was her. After telling the nurse and asked that she just keep an eye on her. My brother got a call that she was responding to commands and very much able to understand what was being said to her. I rushed back to the hospital to find that not only can she follow commands she can "talk". I asked her several important questions which I'm sure she understood. Sometimes she responded by squeezing my hand and sometimes it was verbal.

The most important thing was she was able to say I LOVE YOU!!!

Then the boys came and WOW... She responded to them and it was the most beautiful thing for all of us.

We don't know what will happen next. She is still very sick and her heart is severely damaged. She has 100% blockage on the right and 80% on the left. There are possible surgeries ahead which are very risky given her current condition. Neurologically we are not sure about the damage and course of treatment. The risks are huge and we know that going forward but we will do whatever it takes to get the best treatment possible and make her comfortable!

I cannot possibly express how grateful I am for all of your thoughts, prayers, juju or whatever you sent our way.

Forever grateful!

JustDenise's mother passed away early this morning.

I'm sure your prayers and condolences would be appreciated.

Oh no! Very sorry to hear this. It's tough to lose a parent regardless of the circumstances, and I know her mom put up quite a fight. Blessings on her family during this great loss.

Need to ask for a lot of prayers for my wife. To make a long story short, she has degenerative disc disease. She had back surgery about 4 years ago to have a cage put in to keep 2 of her vertebrae apart. The disc is completely gone there. Well, the hardware at some point this year broke. She is having surgery on Dec 2 to remove the broken hardware. 4-6 weeks later they will go back in to install new hardware. I have good insurance but there will still be out of pocket expenses that are going to hurt. On top of that, because my wife has not been at her job for a year, they do not legally have to keep her job (FMLA requires you to be there for one year) which means they dont have to pay short term disability or the long term stuff she was paying for out of her paycheck. So she is losing her job, we are losing her income and we will essentially have 2 deductibles and out of pocket expenses to pay as one surgery is in 2016 and the other is in 2017. Calendar year deductible is going to bite us in the rump.

We need your prayers to make it through the next 4-6 months on one income. I am already doing what I can to cut back some expenses but it is not going to be enough. I am looking for any side work I can do to help out during this time so if you know anyone that needs computer related work done please send them my way (virus cleanup, web sites, that kind of stuff). But most importantly, please pray and pray often. I know God is not going to let us go under but it will definitely be a stressful time.

Thanks and I love my Hwy family!

Sorry to hear that man. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'll keep an eye out for any computer side work and let you know.

Wow...what an awesome thread. We all have people in our lives needing immediate prayer. I for one have no doubt that prayer is a powerful thing, especially when done in mass. While my heart goes out to those with illness my prayers are lifted to God for His mercy. I have several examples but will simply say, "Pray with faith."

Wow, sorry to near this. We'll be thinking about y'all, and if I run across any sort of computer work, I'll let you know. Hang in there.
