Social media is blowing up about kids jammed into hallways, many with no masks, and apparently a trend of other kids pulling masks off. A lot of parents wanting someone's butt!

Kinda glad I don't have school age kids anymore.

I'm so glad we're done with the Paulding County School District. Since my kids all graduated, my blood pressure has leveled out and my stress level went down.

We had dinner with our grandson last night, he started 9th grade at S Paulding. He said it’s stupid, they’re strictly enforcing social distancing in the classroom, doesn’t allow eating in the lunchroom, but allow literally hundreds of kids in the hallway at once between classes. We placed a wager that they’ll change to virtual learning within a month.

he did say he was glad to be back in class, mainly because he had a few hotties in his classes. Like all good grandfathers I reminded him he’s a freshman pleb.

I have my doubts this will result in any massive outbreaks. There are a lot of people out there who are absolutely hysterical over this virus and they are freaking out.

Will a few kids get it? Probably. Will it be any worse than a season flu outbreak? We'll see, but I'm thinking probably not.

But, what do I know? I'm just a dumb ole HVAC guy.

There is a lot of evidence and at least 3 studies that say elementary age children are most often asymptomatic and rarely pass it on. It shouldn't be a problem and even the head of the CDC supports in person classes for younger students. The jury is still out on older kids.

You'd have to know my grandson. He's 14 going on 21 and too much like his dad (and grandfather). He doesn't give a rip about masks but notices how everyone is reacting about it. He's just happy to be back in school, he didn't want to learn virtually and missed being around his friends (and girls).

A friend, who works at a middle school, said that much of what they are doing in school right now is really preparing the kids to be back at home doing virtual learning again.

No more crowded than the protesters/rioters who took to the streets. I have been told again and again, none of them got sick and they were all crammed together for multiple hours and often days and months....

It will be interesting to see if the kids remain healthy. They are not in the demographic that seems to get the virus. If I had an obese kid, or one with diabetes, or any other underlying condition I would opt for distance learning.

Based on my not getting sick over these past 8 months, I would send my kids to school.

I still like the way Sweden decided to go on with life with smart changes like social distancing, protecting the older people from being among crowds, and limiting people into old folks care facilities.
