Old Doors...Pretty Cool Idea

Mrs. Reacher has been wanting to either buy or build (that means for me to build) a headboard for months, but she couldn't decide what she wanted. We've done without one ever since we got the bed about 3 years ago.

Anywho...she was looking on line Friday and saw where someone took an old door and made a headboard out of it. She was going to look Saturday, but I had to work. I stopped during lunch at a antique shop on Whitlock, found a door and called Mrs. Reacher. She drove up later and bought it. Of course, that meant that I had to build a frame for it over the weekend and attach it. WHY do I do this stuff to myself :BH

But, as it turns out, she LOVES it. :love That's all that matters :DN

Not bad at all.

My mad skilz must be rubbing off on you. ;D

I told her we had to be VERY careful loading it in the truck. Wouldn't want to scratch it  :laugh

I love! Good job! :thumbsup

My neighbors, at my first house, used an old section of fence...it was rather cool looking too. They sold it at a yard sale and then I saw the same headboard show up at a local thrift store. Haha!

Now I'm really ticked. :tapfoot2 While it does make a beautiful headboard, that's exactly the type of door I've been looking for to replace some interior doors in my house. :taunt

Girl! I wish I'd known you when I had my first house. I had tons of those old doors in my basement, and old windows. I'd have been happy to share them with you. I could kick my butt for not saving some of those old windows to paint on, and for never converting one of those old doors into a coffee table!

I LOVE it!! My hubby used an old door from my grandparents home to make us a headboard a few years ago.
