MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA – A Montgomery County police officer fatally shot his 17-year-old son when the teenager attacked him with a hunting knife Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Wow. The turmoil the father must be feeling right now is impossible to even put into words. I hope that this family receives all that it needs. Counseling and lots of prayers will be tops on that list for them.
 
I don't think I could have done it. I just don't. If my child - my heart - was coming at me to kill me, I don't think I'd want to live if the only way for me to survive was that he he had to die.

In no way do I think the father here is wrong. I understand why he did what he did. I just don't think I could do it.

This is so incredibly sad. Especially knowing the turmoil their family must have faced for sometime. :(
