NO MORE COFFEE? WHAT THE HECK???

Every morning I go into the dining facility and get a cup of coffee to take back to my room to drink while I read my email, news and check in here. I go up to the big coffee maker and there is a sign that says they will no longer continue with the coffee service. I'll be darkening some doors today to find out exactly what the heck is going on. I'm sure I won't be the only one complaining either.

Cutting off coffee service in an area with a large number of armed men/women ... not a bright move. :))

Here's what I found out. The Gunnery Sergeant in charge of the dining facility has his panties in a wad. My interesting conversation with him:

Me: Hey Gunny, why aren't you providing coffee anymore?

Gunny: Because I'm sick and tired of finding empty sugar and creamer packets on the coffee counter.

Me: We used to have a trash can there for that, but it hasn't been there for a long time. How come?

Gunny: I got tired of people dumping their paperplates and other trash from their meals in there when they're supposed to dump them in the trash outside.

Me: Why not use a container too small to put paper plates in, but large enough to put empty sugar and creamer packets on the coffee counter? We have several Afghans working in here that are supposed to clean. Make them responsible for emptying the dang thing when it starts to get full.

Gunny: Why should any of my employees have to be responsible for that?

Me: How about because that's what we pay them to do - work?

Gunny: I've made my mind up, there will be no more coffee.

Me: We'll see about that.

I wanted to ask him if he was a friggin Democrat because he didn't want employees who are paid to clean to actually do their job.

What?? No coffee??? Are they nuts??? Sorry you're having to deal with this. This is the best I can do for now, being so far away and all.

I would never tell anyone that has access to weapons no more coffee.
Though something is very wrong with that Sargent to deny anyone coffee. :huh

Makes ya wanna :Stick and then make him :BH !!! WTH is he thinking? Oh wait, Obama is... :F Ya gotta have the coffee cuz we picture you like this :coffeespit .

Seriously, I just could not imagine a life without coffee. I am not a morning person so it would be very bad for him. Idea, send a woman in there........

Well, since he's not using the coffee pot in the dining hall, why not take it to your room? If anyone complains, tell them to go see the Gunnery Sergeant.

I once decided to give up coffee. I made it three days before my co-workers brought me a cup and said "you WILL drink this NOW."

The coffee maker is one of those that makes about 100 cups. The sucker is gigantic. It also has to hook up directly to a water source, which is not available in my room.

UPDATE. The dining facility is once again brewing coffee!!!
