I was just wanting to start a discussion about nicknames! Share a story with all of us on a nickname you earned in your life. I will start.

In high school, my friends started calling me Gumby and it was not because I was skinny and green! Well, maybe it was... here's the story.

Our Army ROTC class would always visit Fort Benning each year. On this trip we have to wear are Army green uniforms. I was on the bus and I was chewing gum. I laughed at something and my gum fell out of my mouth. I looked everywhere for it and I could not find it. Apparently the gum landed on the headrest of the seat. The person behind me did not see me as I was leaning down looking on the ground for it. He flicked the gum down which landed in my seat. Needless to day, I sat down on it and had gum on my ROTC uniform all day! The nickname stuck with me throughout my high school days!

Good times! :))

Studmuffin. OK, a guy can dream, can't he? ;D

"Coop", a portion of my last name

"Beak", because of my high-capacity breathing device

One of my first road partners called me "Topher". Some pronounce it like "Two-fer" and some say "Tow-fer". It is the second part of my first name...ChrisTOPHER. Of course, there are only a few who are allowed to call me that now. Most every one now-a-days has to call me Major Topher ;D

I wasn't suppose to be named Elizabeth ( yes there is a story) so when my parents decided not to change it the just started calling me Beth

Sadie came in high school.... Not many call me that anymore . The teacher who gave me that name got a fb over the summer so he posted to Sadie on my wall lol. My teacher read a book about a young female and when the described the girl he thought of me. I told him that wasn't normal and just lolled until another teacher read the book and thought of me too. I wished I remembered the name of that book.

I've been deewee all my life. Dad gave me the nick, after trying to teach me to say my name (Lisa Diane) when I learning to talk.

How did you get the "Fart Blossom" nickname we call you at church?

My dad used to call me Jen-Jen. When my college roommate heard him call me that, she thought it was GREAT... :)) So she started a trend among some of my other friends.

My son got his nickname like that, his (then) two-year-old sister's mispronunication of his name.

I learned that skill from you, GD. :neenerbutt

I was (and still am by my aunts and grandma!) called Sassy. My little brother who is 7 years younger, couldn't say my name when he was learning to talk. So he combined my name along with sister or sis. LOL They always said it fit me well. Haha

The MrsB is just my married name.

I wasn't suppose to be named Elizabeth ( yes there is a story)

Spill it.

I was born in the day when the knocked the mom out! Her and my dad agreed that my name was gonna be Dana Sue if I was a girl. She had no clue if I was a boy or girl but still made something with Dana on it ( we found it when I helped them move from my childhood home a few years back) My dad KNEW I was gonna be a Dana. My mom instilled it into him.

Well mom was in the recovery room half in and out and the nurses had a tv on and the Walton's were on and Grand Ma Walton was screaming for Elizabeth over and over and over "Elizabeth?.....Elizabeth....Elizabeth. At this moment my dad and the nurse walked over and told her she had a baby girl and asked what she wanted to name her. Grandma walton started calling for Elizabeth again. At this point mom Said in an odd drugged out voice Ellllliiizabeth. So the nurse looked at my dad and he said I guess she changed her mind to Elizabeth. My mom fell back asleep and didnt know what daddy had done.

needless to say Daddy got in trouble but we moved when I was 1 1/2 and a little girl named Dana lived next door that drove my mom INSANE. So Mom said it worked out in the long run lol

I'm the oldest of four. I'm 6 years older than my youngest sister. When she was learning to talk, she said my name before she ever said anything to sound like she was calling Mom or Dad, but she pronounced it Gar Gar. So my mom started doing the same thing because she thought it was so cute. I always thought it ok for my little sister to call me that, but I didn't like Mom doing it. They both call me that at times to this day.

I've had the nick Foxmeister since high school. A friend started it. Meister means master in German. I was popular with the girls and we called the good looking ones foxes back then. Therefore he started calling me "Foxmeister" master of foxes.

During my career, I had several nicknames, none of which I can say here. When my oldest grand daughter was born, my childrens mother was giving the nicknames out. I chose not to particpate. After a while, when we were at a church function, she said that I never said what I wanted our grand daughter to call me. My daughter in law and her mother were standing there also. I said, when she is old enough to call me anything, it had better be Mister or Sir. My DIL laughed and it has been Mister ever since.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAa Oh, Lord, honey - we really need to get together and just let you talk about all the things that have happened to your family. I would have a complete book in about a day and a half. :D :D :D

well my first nickname RNG (redneckgirrrlll) is combo of GD calling me a redneck all these years and my bff calling me girrrllll all the time.

My 2nd nickname that has stuck with me for 7 years now was given to me by my bff's little boy. When he was learning to talk I was trying to get him to say my name (Stephanie) and he couldn't say it....he came up with Tappy. Well it stuck...and now all my friends and their kids call me tappy, my techs at work call me Tappy...my family calls me Tappy...so I guess my permanent nickname is Tappy..lol
