You had NOTHING traditional there! LOL

We had the traditional all the way..........hog jowls, collards, black-eyed peas and cornbread.

No desert, but I did have some Spumoni ice cream later. Man I love that stuff. We can only buy it here around the holidays, I have 3 - 1/2 gallons in the freezer downstairs. :p

I know. I hate black eyed peas for one thing.

I love black-eyed peas, but hate the greens. So I make my family eat those! LOL

We had that. I made a ham, then did the black eyed peas with the smoked ham hocks, collards with hog jowl and homemade mac & cheese.

Now, let me ask you - you don't eat the jowl, do you? I just cooked my greens with it, then chucked it over the fence. It looked like watery-meat-jello. ewwww..

Anyway, my dinner was DELISH! And I did it all by myself!

Just seeing this. LOL Yes we eat the jowls, I fry them like bacon. They are definitely not my favorite but my DH, mom and dad love them. I usually choke down eat one.

Good for you on all the homemade stuff!!
