More Political Speak I hate...

Media and political people get in the most stupid habits. Once they hear something, they all begin to mimic it. I've been writing investigative reports for most of my career and have made my share of stupid statements. With the book I've noticed stupid things I've written and have to go back and correct them, but some things just bug me.

For instance, if you were to say..."We are going to have to work harder on the budget" a regular Joe or Jack like me would probably believe you mean to say that you are going to work harder on the budget in the future.

But instead, they have to say they are going to work harder on the budget "moving forward"

REALLY? I actually thought you were going to take a time machine ride and do it in the past ::)

That's like this "on the ground" business.

Announcer: "And that report was live, from reporter Jan Brown who is on the ground in London"

REALLY? She looked like she was "on the ground" and so did all the people walking around her, but I'm glad you cleared up that London is not a cloud city like in the movie Avatar ::)

Okay...I'm done...little things bug me if you haven't guessed :p

Understandable, what gets me is the supposed news anchors are the first to use the words "controversial", or "the crisis", even if something isn't really a crisis.
