The Lawn Mower Repairman!!
I just wanted to clue you fine folks into what's in store for our business in the coming weeks. Currently, I am still having to operate as "mobile" service, while trying to keep my dad's shop breathing, down in Carrollton.

Well...I am looking into getting a nice, BIG shop in Hiram, close to D. Sailors Pkwy, where 120 is cutting through. I am in talks with a financial investor who scouts out small businesses with great potential. He has followed our work since last year, and hopefully can furnish the capital to get us going strong, including sales of new equipment and parts, along with the best repair people I know of.

In the meantime, every little bit of business helps, so give us a call if you need any repairs. South Dallas, Hiram, and North Douglasville locations are where we do most mobile business. It's only $30 for a pick up and delivery....you can't beat that with a stick folks!! We still try to repair all we can onsite, but if shop work is needed, it's the same price as a mobile call. While this is a steal of a deal for the customer, it's rather pressing on my end. But, it's part of creating relationships with new customers so that when the official shop is in place, then at least we know we've earned the trust of many a happy customer, and repeat business.

Until I can get things rolling enough to hire a secretary, I would encourage potential customers to contact me via PM or my email, which is shown on my profile. I can't hear as well as I used to, especially on phones so if you could email me or PM me, then I would be happy to work for you.

This is not a business that uses cheaper labor by hiring young folks. No offense to young folks, but for now this is only two MASTER mechanics, who have been building engines and repairing equipment for the past 35 years. You get what you pay for. Our rates remain competitive, but more importantly, we STRESS quality that I would dare you to find better anywhere in the state. We don't just repair machines, but we are up to speed on a rash of design flaws in newer equipment. We have ways to fix inherent problems with many machines that will make them last you 5-10 or more years than they were designed to.

If we can be of service to you, please call 678-315-8794, PM or email us at glennsmowerrepair@comcast.net. I also encourage everyone to visit our website, prior to contacting us. It spells out our policy, deposits, labor rates, and offers a large amount of advice that has helped many people fix their own equipment. We are here to help and earn your trust by providing the best and most knowledgeable service you'll find anywhere at rates that will remain affordable, yet still competitive. Large landscape businesses LOVE us, because they know when they pick up their machines, they will work perfectly every time. That says a lot on this business! ;)

Give us a call, and help us meet our goal of setting up shop in Hiram again!!

Yeah, I'm a little scared and nervous, but also excited too. It's taking up a lot of space in my feeble little brain! ;D

Glenn-
I have a small generator with a Tecumseh motor that has given me fits since practically new. It surges. I have had it to two different shops, one cleaned the carb and the second replaced the carb and the fuel line. each time it ran fine for about 10 hours and then started surging again. Think you can help me out?

Those Tecumsehs are a pain in the rear. But I'm pretty sure I can fix you up. We have an old saying....it takes a mechanic to fix a Briggs & Stratton, but it takes closer to a brain surgeon to fix a Tecumseh. (Hence why they probably went out of business a few years back. Most shops won't even take them in anymore.....but hey- I take in EVERYTHING. They cost a little more to repair, due to kits costing more and about a half hour more in labor, but I'd be happy to get you going. If the carburetor was replaced with a new one, then it's possible something else is causing your problem though. I'd just have to see it. Some folks will swap out carbs and miss another problem that could be giving you fits. Also, does the fuel line have a filter on it? Tecumseh carbs are so fickle that even a speck of trash will make it run like crap, so I've been using fine strain filters on the carbs I rebuild on those and it seems to keep them clean enough to not give you trouble for a long time. Give me a call-
