I saw this article this morning and it made me wonder...are any of us safe anymore?

It could be any of us in the news tomorrow.

Hate seems to be winning.
 
The first thing I always think is that it is a deliberate act by a democrat to further gun control, however the reality that it is a deranged person has a much higher probability. The great question is, what can be done about it that does not infringe on everyone's rights?

I've said before that its possible to design red flag laws so that the accused has a quick in absentia hearing before a judge with the accuser and an appointed advocate prior to confiscation in which the accuser must make a solid case and the advocate must agree, followed by a full in person hearing within 72 hours. It's often done in cases where a person is approaching being adjudicated mentally ill. This would unfortunately require the courts to actually be responsive to the needs of the public, and it would go against the actual goal of what the Democrats intend with red flag laws, which is confiscation. Every red flag attempt to date sounds rosy until you find out that the accused has to PROVE HE IS NOT GUILTY at some point in the process. The default should always innocent, and any lack of action on the part of the courts should lead to immediate return of the weapons. At every point, the court should have to stop the automatic return of the weapons, not the other way around.

So far no motive, but what little has leaked doesn't point to jihad. His social media was pro Islam but not anti-American.or anti-white. He may be another incel. He apparently bought at least one gun right after the Atlanta shootings, and lamented not having a girlfriend. Could be a copycat, but his family apparently knew he had gone off the rails.

That's what it's looking like. The insta check is supposed to fix that, but only works if they have been treated, which most people are not for financial reasons or because they are concerned that just the fact they went will be used to deny all kinds of rights.
