Priebus, Giuliani, Gingrich plot Trump 'intervention': report

Top Republicans and political allies to Donald Trump are planning an "intervention" with the candidate following several disastrous days of a political firestorm that has encircled the Republican presidential nominee, according to a report Wednesday.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Speaker Newt Gingrich (Ga.) are among those looking to talk with the businessman, NBC News reports.

The group hopes to enlist Trump's children, who have proven pivotal in advising the businessman's candidacy, in their effort to get Trump back on track after days of feuding with the parents of a slain U.S. soldier that even his closest political allies, like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, have called inappropriate.

Assuming this is true, will this help Trump shift his focus to Hillary instead of other republicans and Khan?

I'm betting on no.

What is so funny?

This is what media virtue signaling looks like... it's fun to watch the infection spread.

The media is successfully creating a narrative with help from the GOP.

I'm looking forward to watching the establishment who created this mess,
getting their elite asses handed to them on a gold plated serving platter...

You seem to want to continue to blame the media for this. Sure, they are against Trump. That is no surprise...they would be against any republican nominee. The problem is all they have to do is replay his words. That's all it takes and they have alot of stupid stuff to pick from.

You're the one being played... these are shiny objects.

:fingerwag:

I'm not that big into conspiracy theories, but would it be too big a stretch to wonder if a Republican nominee who contributed to Clinton's campaign and acted like a Democrat all of his adult life (up until he decided to run for President) was screwing up on purpose? At some point you have to ask yourself if he is the stupid one, or if we are.

Yeah, he's been plotting this for years... it's huge.

What is your point? Trump has been reaching out to Bernie supporters. How is this even news?

I watch all three network evening news broadcasts almost every
night, and every night they are all parroting the same message...

It is not a coincidence... the topic of this thread will lead tonight for 3-5 mins.

Welcome to the Narrative... it's kinda like the Matrix, but we have better food.

:goodjob:

I get that. However, ignoring the media coverage, do you think Trump's actions and statements over the last week are the right ones to make for someone trying to win the presidency of the United States?
