at all of this comparisons being made between other cases of youths being shot while in the commission of crimes and that of Trayvon's. I'm sorry that those others have been shot but the contention all along has been that Trayvon was doing nothing wrong, merely walking back to his Dad's after buying candy and a drink at a local convenience store. How on earth is that the same as a youth involved in an active gun fight or a youth that was part of a group breaking and entering into private property?
 
Yeah, I love how the media outlets portray Trayvon as nothing but a skittle toting yungin' who was just trotting over to daddy's house for some milk.
 
If I was her I would say, "Hindsight is 20/20, should have raised him better".
 
It's called the "Rodney King effect". Suddenly every minority, especially those of a criminal mind, is to be given a free pass because one black person was ALLEGEDLY the victim of brutal racism. Every prosecution is suddenly persecution. Every arrest is police brutality. Every handcuff is a noose. Every police raid is a vigilante posse. Trevon Martin is viewed as a get out of jail free card.
 
You guys are totally missing my point ... as Trayvon Martin's mother I would be furious that these criminals were being painted with the "same as Trayvon" brush. Whatever actually went down between Martin and Zimmerman after the confrontation is of no consequence ... Martin was supposedly engaged in no criminal activity just prior to their contact. That is absolutely NOT that case with virtually every other case I have seen/heard referred to as being "just like Trayvon Martin." They were criminals.
 
But Unionmom you are thinking of this as a mother usually thinks of their children.....that my child could never do anything wrong. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard that statement.

But the fact is, we do not know what really happened before the shooting. It's entirely possible that it happened just the opposite. The "young child" may have actually out looking for trouble..... and his mother knew it. That may be why she's not upset about it. Or maybe she just didn't care at all about her "child" and is only riding the spotlight while she can?

We may never know the true story of what happened. And I dang sure do not believe what I hear and read in the media.
 
Even if she's just playing it up she could be getting even more sympathy and mileage out of it if she were distancing her sweet angel from these thugs.

And to clarify ... it's the media that's annoying me with this crap.
