I hope everyone with children in Paulding county schools remembers this is early dismissal week. One hour early. Don't forget those kiddos! :))

Mine wouldn't let me forget for anything!

We're picking him up super fast - and making a dash for Berry....another baseball game this afternoon! :cheer1

mine is staying after for baseball conditioning so I don't have to worry about forgetting him lol

The princess has early release on Thursday - she gets out at noon - and they're out all day on Friday.

Are these regular games? I looked at their schedule online the other day and didn't see anything for now. I'd love to take 5yo nephew to see one.

These are fall intersquad games. They have a fall "world series" they've been playing since mid last week. It's also a fundraiser - 100 inning game.

He's doing really well. He (as a freshman) is a projected starter for spring. He plays 1st and 3rd base, and pitches a little bit. Yes, we're proud! :cheer1

I'm even more proud of his attitude. This has been really hard work for him. He has always had a passion for the game, but like any teenager, he could be lazy. So not the case here! He has done what is necessary to make it to 6:30am workouts, attend all his classes (and he has a heavy load for a freshman), practice once or twice a day, keep on top of his campus job, and study to keep his grades up. He also had heard "bad" things about the coach. (We knew up front he runs a tight ship, but some of the players he's met really talked badly about the coach.) He has been good to keep an open mind, and told us this past weekend that Coach Beasley is, without a doubt, the BEST coach he's ever had! He's excited about how he's being challenged.

And while we were there Saturday, we saw major league scouts! (That's really cool. Up until now, we've only watched the college scouts, and thought about college as his next level.)

Please, please, please bring your nephew to a game! Let me know so we can visit. The first regular season game is a double header on Feb. 2nd against Greensboro.

:cheer1 :cheer1 :cheer1

OK, give me the details of what's coming up this month and I'll try to bring kidlet. (He is a baseball FANATIC, and is a Very Good Player.) I'd love to visit with you!

Without fail, the hardest, meanest, most demanding teachers I ever had were the very BEST ones I ever had.

I agree. And we've shared that with him, of course. The great part is that he "gets" it at 18! :thumbsup
