How they want to teach Math in Oregon

So I guess if Leroy has two watermelons and Rufus steals one watermelon how many watermelons are left is out now?
This falls in line with kids playing sports where nobody comes in first and scores aren't kept, so that nobody's feelings get hurt. Using your math problem a kid could say the answer is three because Rufus would most likely share the watermelon with Leroy.

Bobby has three cupcakes and eats one. How many cupcakes does Bobby now have?
Little Mickey: Until he poops the one he just ate, he still has three.
Teacher: Technically that's correct.

So I guess if Leroy has two watermelons and Rufus steals one watermelon how many watermelons are left is out now?
A.) None, because while Leroy was chasing down and shooting Rufus, LaTran found the other melon and traded it for a six pack of malt liquor.
