Before BBG chimes in with his fashion statements, I'll answer Sadie's question - actually, I don't think they're uncomfortable from what I've read. They have steel supports, I believe, which gives the back its support. And you can see from that pic that it's a platform, so the foot isn't even all that arched in this particular one.

Now, as to attractiveness - I think a shoe fashioned like a pig's hoof would be prettier. But what do I know.
