Boss 302
Pursuit Driver
Now I'm no Trump fan by any means of the imagination, but I think the Democrats are off their rocker for introducing these articles of impeachment; especially since they have no evidence to support them.
One article accuses Trump for obstruction of justice referring to Comey being fired, which obstructed justice because of an investigation that he colluded with Russia to win the election. Even Comey stated there was no evidence found of collusion.
Another accuses him of undermining the federal judiciary and the freedom of the press. Hmmm, I guess appointing a conservative to the SCOTUS still has them in an uproar, even though the Dems are blocking all his other appointments to federal benches. As far as freedom of the press, the press is still producing news stories on anything they want about him. There's the article claiming he's mentally unstable and they're afraid he will launch a nuclear attack on North Korea. Why; because he's taken a tough position with them and their nuclear weapon development, as well as their threats to launch nuclear weapons at US targets and Japan?
They know these articles of impeachment will not get hearings in the House. This is no more than a really stupid campaign strategy attempting to gain more seats in the House and the Senate during the mid-term election. They're hoping to fire up their base to get a high election day turnout and hoping this position will keep Republican turnout very low because they have become tired of Trump.
I think it will backfire on them. As long as the Republican base and independent voters see the economy continue to improve with more jobs being created and median family income continue to rise, the Democrats will lose at the polls. Most voters like earning money and keeping more of their money. As long as they see their lives improving under a growing economy, the will not want to revert the majority in Congress back to the Dems because they know how the Dems really hate seeing any Republican president succeed and will take any measures they can to ensure he does not.
The Republicans in Congress are not entirely out of the woods yet when it comes to keeping the majority. They need to do everything they can to keep Trump successful even if they have to choke on their words to do so. If not, some of them will lose their seats; which historically happens in mid-term elections. By that I mean we have seen during every presidential election (with the exception of GW Bush), where the party of the sitting president lost seats in Congress during a mid-term election. It happened to Obama, Clinton, GH Bush, Reagan, Carter, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, and FDR.
It would be in the best interest of the GOP right now to come up with a better tax reform bill and something good to repeal and replace Obamacare. That's a lot of work in a short period of time. They better roll those sleeves up and put in the necessary effort and hours.
