…to New Zealand. Not that we had any in the first place but we’re definitely not ever going now. A few years ago I was making plans for a surprise trip there so the Queen could see wild penguins but we can take take trip off the bucket list now…at least until we’re at the bottom of the bucket.

Baroness Finlay of Llandaff, a professor of palliative medicine in the UK, condemned New Zealand’s decision in a comment to the Herald.

“It is bizarre that a country which has been trying to protect it citizens by closing down completely from a virus from which people can fully recover … is now suggesting that these patients should be killed by their doctors,” she said. “It turns the ethos of medicine on its head.”

“You really cannot predict death 100 per cent,” she added. “So why not support them while they are dying and leave the door open in case they are in the group that defies all odds and recovers completely?”
 
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see a problem with this. They already offer physician assisted suicide and they just added suffering from COVID as an acceptable reason to allow physician assisted suicide. Yes, there is a chance for abuse to take place, but, if someone wishes to end their life due to suffering from any medical condition including COVID, I don't see a problem with it. Physician assisted suicide is definitely better than blowing your brains out with a shotgun.

Having said all that, clearly the govt shouldn't be forcing this and the linked article didn't seem to indicate that they could.
 
Well, since you asked for it....you're wrong. Actually I'm just kidding and I understand what you're saying. Yes, the article does give "conditions" for this to happen. My point was that I'm not visiting any country where this could be an issue, especially when the whole "Covid" subject is already ripe with abuse, manipulation, and political agendas. I'll pass.
