Blueseed, a floating high tech incubator concept is nearing reality. The team announced that there are over 100 companies signed up to board the concept. Blueseed is a modified cruise ship which will rent equipped office and living space for about $3,000 per person per month. That fee includes access to Silicon Valley's best and brightest, as well as the normal equipment needed by a tech start-up.
The biggest draw beyond the collaborative atmosphere, however, is that no work visa will be required for access, and it is assumed, no US taxes will be due since the entire operation can be conducted offshore. The difficulty in obtaining US work visas was the driving factor in Blueseed's development. The tax situation is currently being reviewed. It will probably wind up in court.
