Generation Gap

Everyone has heard of the “Generation Gap” and it’s nothing new, I found out tonight it’s true. I’ve posted before that I’m one of the oldest students at the martial arts dojo which I attend. The owner is about 7 years younger than me and since the shutdown the only person older than me has not returned. There are 3 or 4 others within a few years of me but by far most are less than half my age and many are only a third. Tonight while waiting for class to begin I asked two young adults their opinion of the Portland issue and said I wanted to hear how younger generations view it. One was familiar and said he didn’t care as long as it doesn’t come to his doorstep and if it did then someone would get hurt. Believe me when I say he could hurt someone quickly, he’s quite the specimen and does things humans aren’t meant to do. Anyway, that’s another story. The other person wasn’t aware of it but once we specified she quickly said she thought it was great. Then she asked if I was aware that unmarked people were kidnapping protesters and nobody knows who they are or where they’re taking them. When I asked if it mattered that property was being destroyed and crimes were being committed she responded that it’s the only way to make change happen. Then she went into a rant about the system being broken, people being forced to risk their lives going back to work and for very little money, that her generation feels they can build something better. When I asked what that would be she had no answer, just said anything would be better. She claims to gather her news from multiple sources so not to form a one sided opinion but it sure was funny she had only negative things to say about our system. She also ranted about LE shouldn’t be allowed to police the streets with only 6 months experience, that they’re not qualified to handle the different situations. She said hair dressers have more training than police. She felt a minimum of 4 years schooling should be required, like a college degree.

I honestly didn’t want to get into a political debate over it, especially since I was the one asking for their opinion. I had to bite my tongue and refrain from saying what I wanted to say. It just wasn’t the place or time so I digressed, but now I’m not sure I can view her the same way. That in itself also proves the generation gap exists, I’m just too old to tolerate nonsense.

There has always been some political divide based on age; young people tend to be more emotional and idealistic, whereas we usually get more conservative and logical as we get older.

But the current divide over militant Socialism/Marxism is by design. There has been an orchestrated plan to indoctrinate our young people for a long time, and it has now reached a fervor pitch.

That is exactly what I hear from my college age employees. "The destruction is fine because now "they" are listening... and anyway, they have insurance."

You ask them what is the message they want people to hear now that "they" are listening? The answer, no more systemic racism.

Ask them how that would look... no clue other than the police need to stop targeting black people because their lives matter as much as anyone else's life.

I said when the gang bangers in Chicago shoot each other no one cares, they don't care that young innocent children are shot by accident... and that is a huge number compared to the number shot by police...

Oops... that was a no no... she jumped down my throat and said that I was being "racists" saying "gang bangers," that I was assuming because they are black they are in a gang. Silly me, you mean black people in Chicago just shoot each other for target practice, for no other reason? puhleeeeaaaasssss

They seemed to think no justice no peace... which they quote to me, would sway people to change... I explained they better sit down with community leaders while they have the chance, while "they are listening" because if it goes on too much longer, the people they most want to listen will move on and tune them out and lock them up, since there are no real plans or goals presented, just destruction and crime. There was no agreement there. They felt people were finally understanding the changes they were demanding.

I think we need a motto: No civility No citizenship. So to sum this up, we should round up the trouble makers who loot, pillage, and murder and fly them to Venezuela so they can understand how their panacea would not be anything more than another failed try at Marxism. Take Stupid girl and the squad along with Bernie Sanders and the Indian Lizzy while we are at it.

Can't be civil, we revoke your citizenship... there can be an amendment added for that, like the 14th Amendment which was added to give slaves and their children birthright citizenship.

We could have been talking to the same person. I was quite surprised that there was no thought of what comes next. I guess expecting anything constructive was my first mistake. I really don’t think my person is an accurate example as she had previously shared with me that she had a “bad childhood” and was estranged from both of her parents, that she has never married because of previous bad relationships. In other words, she’s a mess and seems to be going in circles.

I need a bigger sample size and from a better quality pool.
