Gee, wonder why?

They would love to have idiots like David Hogg who have no clue how the real world operates voting,

Hey, I'm all for it as long as they lower the age to purchase a firearm and ammo to 16 as well. If someone is mature enough to vote to lead our country, they should be mature enough to handle self protection. Oh yeah, lower the age to buy cigarettes, alcohol and Mary Jane too. Same argument. In fact, they should give every 16 year old $500 on their birthday to buy their first cigarette, drink, firearm and ammo. That should work well.

And that would lock in life-long democratic voting so I wouldn't it past them....especially when free college is included.

The left would argue a 16-year old is not mature enough to own a firearm. I wonder if they think 16 is too young to serve in the military? I bet they would say it is.

I'd agree with that too. Yet they think it *is* old enough to vote for the leadership of our country. They are so hypocritical it hurts.

Keep it all at 18, or better yet, go to 21 for all. I know I was a lot more mature at 21 than at 18. (not that is saying much for those that knew me. :) )

You can't rent a hotel room in most hotel chains until you are 21, because the courts have deemed that until 21, a person does not understand what it is to enter into a contract.

If an 18 year old rents a room and burns down the hotel... it is your problem. The court will not hold them in account for it.

I agree. I don't think people are mature enough to enlist at 17; especially today. Hell most people are not mature enough at 18.

I know. Most of them don't even want to get a driver's license. I guess they like having Mommy drive them around.

My daughter was like that about her learners license. If she couldn't go by herself, why should she drive? That just meant should couldn't stay on her phone and/or game system.

Where I was bored at 15 with my parents driving us somewhere, today's kids are engaged with stuff outside the car.

I got my learner's permit at 15, and Dad took me out every Saturday to drive. We took a family vacation to northern Michigan from Augusta that summer. Dad let me drive on I-75 through KY. I had a lot interest outside the car as well. Even when I got my driver's license, I could use the car on Friday or Saturday night to go to the movies or out on a date, but I still had a lot of other fun things that didn't involve a car.

A license meant freedom.

I am always surprised when I hear of 18 year olds who still haven't learned to drive, nor have they gotten a learners permit to practice driving with their parents... it is just odd to me. It us common though...

Why want to go somewhere when the world will come to them now via the internet. They meet their friends on their xbox account. Order pizza and other foods delivered, have tweeter and Farcebook to give them news. Driving uses fossil fuel and is polluting whereas electricity is pollution free right? It said so on tweeter.

What you gave were examples of laziness.
