Fugitives & STop Stix

I heard a report that during the chase for the brothers & sister fugitives, just before they were captured, an off duty policeman put out a stop stick on the road aiding in their capture.

My question is; would this off duty policeman still be in his work vehicle and have these handy or do they carry them in their personal vehicle also?

I wouldn't mind having a couple of those myself for some very unruly drivers.

If it did happen he was most likely in a "take home" police car.

As Hog said, he was prob driving his take home car. Not all depts allow take home cars. Those that do allow it have a mileage limit on how far they can live from the PD to have a take home car.

As some have said, they were probably in the trunk of his take home car. I've had one off and on over the years, depending on my assignment at the time. It's obviously an expensive piece of equipment to be responsible for. Although it is very nice when gas prices are high, I am not that crazy about taking one home these days. I have been told that I can take one home now, but I would rather not make myself that available for a "call out". Been there, done that, had my fill of it. Sure, I may still be called in during my off hours, but I don't want to make it an easy decision because I have a car at home.
