Flying Delta with pet

Ms. Diana

WAKE UP! SMILE! LIVE LARGE!
Has anyone flown Delta lately with a pet (in carrier) in passenger area? I have but it has been a while. I know it is $125 for her ticket, but I get varying answers on whether a health certificate is needed. According to website, one is not needed if you have her as a carry on, but must have one in the cargo area. I would never fly her in the cargo area. The reps say the same thing (except for one rep said she MAY need the HC). She just had her examine and all her shots 2 months ago, but I would have to pay $75 each way for another exam if the health certificate is required to fly her as a carry on. Thanks in advance! :love

My bff just came back from Ohio with hers. I will ask her tomorrow. (She does not have kids. Jack IS hers. He did not ride in cargo)

I assume it's Gretchen you are asking about, since Dinky could easy be comfortable in a purse :neenerbutt God forbid if Gretchen got loose on the plane :laugh

Thank you ShoeDiva; I appreciate it. And no, Dave, it is Dink I speak of and though she is just 2 pounds, she must have a ticket. Gretchen is pregnant and cannot fly! How have you been, Sir Dave?

What Gretchen is Pregnent WOOOHOOO anyway as for dinky YES SHE CAN FLY as carryon baggage

I would just ask the vet to do a HC just in case. I wouldn't think that you would have to have one for the trip back.

You need a certificate from your vet and it will work for the round trip. My friend said her vet just gave it to her, no charge.

Maybe I should have used your sister's vet. Mine charges for another exam and certificate. So does the vet I used prior (Hiram Animal Hospital on 92). Delta said if she flies cargo, I would have to have another certificate from the Florida side. HOWEVER, since she is flying in the cabin with me, according to Delta, no certificate is required. Guess I'll see in the a.m. Thanks all.

Thanks to all your responses. We flew yesterday with no problem. All she needed was her ticket and her airline approved crate pictured below. Since one agent had said she MAY need the Health Certificate and another said she would not, I took my chances. She was sooooo good. :love
