Ex-NYPD commissioner warns of 'very bleak' future for NYC, says de Blasio 'eviscerated' the force

When I was working there in the 80's we worked a lot at night because we were in open hotels. The doormen and natives would always tell us which way we could walk for a meal. It was the most bizarre thing. Entire blocks were controlled by different gangs and the cops wouldn't go into some areas at night even in parts of Manhattan.
