Even though I HATE cold weather....

I'm almost looking forward to most of the criminals staying indoors. :Ninja It's been a BOOGER of a summer out there

Of course we'll have to wade through the Christmas Shoplifting Season ::)

AC off, windows open. Much better then the weather we had a week ago when Irene was approaching :DN

GD, when are you going to close your pool? I've heard some folks say they're gonna close theirs after this weekend, but even with the leaves, I like to sit out by the pool and fire pit in cooler weather. Last year, I closed ours the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'd like to do the same this year, but I'll factor in whether it's going to be really really cold 'cause I don't want to freeze my hiney off the day I close it. :D

We don't close ours. I love looking at the clear blue water, under a blanket, by the fire. Glass of wine (coffee in the a.m.) in hand. Leaves are only an issue for a little while, and that is why I gave birth to a son. :))

I figure 4yo nephew will be big enough to do all pool maintenance next year. :D Actually, with our saline pool, maintenance is like ZERO, anyway, other than the skimmer and the polaris.

We can't see our pool from the house easily, or I'd leave ours open all year. But it has been nice these bitter bitter cold nights to know it can't freeze and I don't have to worry about running the pump.

My pool is surrounded by trees, and even now the skimmer is getting clogged twice per day. Once the leaves really start falling, I can't get them out as fast as they fall in. So I have no choice.

Sounds like we have about half as many trees as you. I can just keep up with it during peak time. You should train that steak-eatin' dog to clean out the skimmer every two hours. :D

I wish. She just lays under the deck and sleeps all day.

Here's a pic taken while I was laying pavers. If you look over the pool, you can see some of the trees. They are much closer on the back and upper sides. We're talking dense woods.

You need you one of those cool screened in back yards like they have in Florida. Should only set you back 50 to 80K. But what's money? If I had yours, I'd throw mine away :p

I just got done with a wedding and still paying for college. I can't afford to pay attention!

At church today, we were talking weather (they're all ranchers and farmers...except for me). One member of the congregation reported that she had frost at her house this morning.

I haven't had any at my house yet, but the time is coming...
