Does this sound good?

Dylan can sing he just chooses not to he is a contrarian. Personally I like his voice it is unique and does not conform to the cookie cutter standard of modern country, R&B or pop. You guys who love bluegrass have to admit some of the vocals on some of the songs are less than listenable. Just like you listen to bluegrass for the instrumentals/stories I listen to Dylan for the lyrics/stories. He is the greatest songwriter of the modern era and that is not just my opinion. Everyone in the music industry and poetic academics agree he is in a class by himself. Music is diverse and about personal taste. I tend to like the unique artists like Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, John Prine and Lucinda Williams more than the main stream conformists. I am a bit of a contrarian too.

I definitely agree with you on some bluegrass vocals, even some which are considered bluegrass "standards." The fact that they consider Bill Monroe the "grandfather of bluegrass" has to be based on his picking skills and efforts in pioneering the genre because, in my humble opinion, he couldn't sing worth a crap. Some of his songs are ear piercing, to say the least, and that's coming from a mandolin student who respects the first and second generation players.
