"Crubio"

Call me crazy...Ok, now that you've done that....

I think it's time for either Cruz or Rubio to drop out and throw their support to the other. Neither of them has a realistic chance to win, and right now together, they have about the same number of delegates as Trump. Assume for a moment that the majority of voters for one will swing to the other and not trump, that gives "Crubio" a fighting chance to win this thing. I know ego plays a big part here, but maybe somebody needs to fall on their sword.

If we had that candidate, Trump probably wouldn't be winning.

True.

I still think Rubio has the best chance to beat Hillary so Cruz should drop out and Rubio promise to nominate him for SCOTUS. And maybe promise Kasich the VP slot (winning Ohio would be nice). I'm not a huge fan of Kasich for VP but I'd take it.

I think that Cruz should stay in, and not just because I support him. Cruz and Rubio poll within the margin of error of each other, and they both beat Hillary. The only reason I would pick Cruz to stay in is that I think that more Cruz supporters would defect to Trump than Rubio supporters would. Kasich would be a good choice for VP as far as Ohio is concerned, but I would imagine that whomever falls on their sword would take that VP slot to keep their supporters on the farm. Whatever the y do, it needs to be done before florida, because if Trump takes Florida like it appears he will, it's lights out for the Republicans. The only thing that could save them would be Hillary campaigning from behind bars.

Agree.

Rubio has won only one state and is currently trailing in his home state, he should be the one who drops. Plus if Cruz drops it's more likely that his supporters would then go with Trump, not so much if Rubio drops.

You think Cruz supporters would defect to Trump over Rubio? I do not at all. I would think more Rubio supporters would go to Trump before Cruz.

I totally agree whatever happens needs to happen now.

Cruz has more evangelical and tea party support than Rubio, whose support is largely base. The traditional GOP voter is far less likely to go to Trump, while Trump enjoys the same evangelical and tea party support as does Cruz.

Interesting. Just among my friends that are Cruz supporters I see a majority of them hating on Trump. My Rubio friends would definitely go to Trump before Cruz. I do not think but a few of my friends actually voted for Trump. So my answer above was just based on my real life what I am seeing. This is all very interesting.

Define "Hating on Trump".

I have seen some, but most of what I've seen toward Trump was people pointing out facts about him that could and probably should be considered before supporting him. That he had very different positions lot so long ago is fact. That he gave big money to and is buddies with the Clintons is fact. That he wants to institute single payer healthcare is fact. That he has acted like a jerk during the campaign is fact.

Conversely, I've seen some attacks on Cruz that were totally off the chain with no basis in fact. We all know Cruz looks like Grandpaw Munster and has no personality. He has some views that make some people uncomfortable. But his record is pretty solid and consistent.

Hating- disliking, not going to vote for him. Whether truth, fact, or fiction, they are not voting for him if he is the choice. I have seen that for Cruz too.

I could not, nor would not support Rubio for any reason. I really like Cruz (and voted for him) but if I had to choose between Rubio or Trump? Well, it's Trump as my only choice. If Rubio gets the nomination by some strange reason, I'll vote DEM!

o_O That is just crazy talk. Really, why the hate for Rubio? I mean Hillary over Rubio????????

I don't "hate" Rubio.....just his puppet masters. Nothing will change with Rubio, he is The Establishment's poster boy.

At least I know every word coming from Hillary is a lie!

:spitlaugh: Sad, but true.

Rubio does have people he listens to, but I also know he stayed loyal to some friends that he was told to dump or disassociate himself with after some bad deals and he did not. He does not always listen, and has made a few mistakes BY listening and doing what he was told , but I still believe he would be better than Hillary. I actually have thought for years he would make a good president, but I did not think this was the time for him to run.
