Chinese food?

Has anyone ever eaten at the Chinese place in Dallas on Merchant's Dr.? It's in that plaza shopping center, next to Subway and the old Huddle House. It looks sketchy, but I see cars there all the time. I need some Chinese, and I've been disappointed for the most part in the other places around here.

I love Chinese food, but I'm skeeered of Chinese restaurants. I've been in the back rooms of too many of them and seen things that would make a billy goat puke.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about that particular one though.

We used to go there years ago and it was good, not great. For some reason, Paulding has a hard time with Chinese food. The consistently best I've had around here is at House of Lu, but I'm not sure if they are even still open, we haven't been there in years either. Several years ago I just lost my love for Chinese food. My daughter loves it so we still go from time to time.

I'm always hesitant to say this, because so many say bad things, but we've always enjoyed the food there (House of China) more than any other Chinese we've eaten here.

Their chicken is white breast meat. The sauces are good, too. The inside of the restaurant isn't great, but I've never eaten a bad meal there.

:dunno

I'll try it, then. I haven't had Chinese in sooo long. I know that just because a place looks sketchy doesn't mean it's bad. I used to love to go to Peking Garden on S Cobb Dr. They have the best Mongolian Chicken. Yum. It looks super sketchy.

There is a place in Chatt called Formosa, and it's a sit down Chinese place, and it is delicious. It's been there as long as I can remember. I wish someone would bring me some.

House of Lu is still open, but I'm not a big fan. Good Chinese in Paulding is tough to find. We order from China Wok by the Ridge Rd. Kroger from time to time, and it's pretty good.

I may just go to the place next to Kroger. I have to go there anyway. It's okay, not the best ever, but I suppose it'll do.

I never liked House of Lu, either. Of course, I know it's like any other ethnic flavors...you get used to certain restaurants, and it's hard to eat at any other.

The Chinese place in the Plaza is not the same people as before. James opened Imperial Palace over behind Westide Bank, across from Clark Funeral Home. He's just in a bad location but he has really good food. I wish more people knew about it, he won't be open for long if he doesn't get some more business.

However my favorite in the whole world is Habachi Grill in the Walmart shopping center in Rockmart. They have Chinese, Habachi and really, really good egg drop soup. They cook everything fresh right in front of you but not like at a Japanese restaurant, it's not a show.

This is the place BBG and I order from because they are the only ones who will deliver to us. They are good.

They seem to be the worst when it comes to state inspections if you watch the restaurant reports in the paper. We never have chinese b/c of that. lol

So glad to hear someone else say that. I was beginning to think my Chinese taste buds were broken.

There is often reason for that. My business takes me into the back rooms of restaurants and I've seen things you don't wanna hear about.

Way back in the day when I drove a delivery tractor trailor for an adult beverage distributor, I too have made many a trip into the back doors/rooms of many restaurants.
I have personally seen small animal skins in the kitchen/food preparation area in a chinese rest. :sick

Paint yourself a mental picture of a small animal about the exact same size of a cat or dog.

Me no eat chinese young grass hoppa.

You should make your way to Acworth. Hong Kong Star is JUST YUM!!! Never had a bad dish there. Sit down, nice decor, nice servers, GREAT food.

Also, there is a place in Euharlee/Cartersville that delivers to me. Not sure if they come up your way. It's ok for "I just want Chinese and don't want to go out" food. They do good Mongolian beef and chicken. Their pot stickers are pretty darned good, too. Best China 770-386-7008

I had a friend who delivered for Bud tell me one time he walked in on an Indian fellow skinning a goat in his convenient store.
