Check your lowe\'s merchandise!

Lowes loves me and I them. :love Seriously I have never once had a problem with their merchandise, and little issues I have had, the manager has gone so far out of his way to fix it I sort of felt bad. (sort of ;) )

I think HD is dirty and not very helpful. That is the D'ville and Hiram ones. I have never once gone in either one where I have felt that the people that were speaking to me knew more than I did. Let me tell you that is scary.

I really think most people like one or the other. LOL

Well I have learned after this not to put any stock into what an employee tells me. I did have a contractor, who was shopping in lowes, help me once in the store. He brought me over to the item I was looking for and gave me suggestions for using the item.

A lot of customers who go into Lowe's or Home Depot to buy large priced items will do a lot of research beforehand so they will know what to look for and what questions to ask. Before I went into to Home Depot to buy my flooring, I did a lot of research and watched a lot of "How To" videos online about installing wood laminate on concrete and wood floors as well as stairs. I went in with a bunch of knowledge and was really frustrated dealing with two employees who didn't have a clue about what they were talking about and it was obvious I knew more than they did.

I still have one question on this project I need an answer to. I have one concrete floor that is 7" higher than the other concrete floor. Currently, the carpet goes up that 7" riser and I want to remove it and replace it with the laminate. However, I have no idea how I should join the carpet and laminate together so that the carpet will not eventually pull away from the laminate.

I feel bad about doing this myself because I had over a year ago had BS come in and give me a quote, but with the cost of the divorce and having to replace a refrigerator, washer and dryer, I have to do this myself to save money. I would have loved to have been able to give them my business. My dad has done this stuff before and he really wants to come down from Michigan to help me with it. This project does give us a reason to spend some quality time together. I can take him out to play some golf while he's down here as well. We don't get to see each other as much as we would like to, so this is a huge bonus for me.

By the way, I've always had no issues with product at HD and only one time had a no service issue (and that was seemingly not the employee's fault). I don't like Lowe's at all. Put the two stores side by side and I'll go in orange first every time.

I agree; the orange is my favorite also. I have had more luck with help at HD and returns with no problem. I had problems at Lowe's with a return once and never went back.
