...I ran across this article today and immediately thought of your book Waski. I'm not sure if you're finished with the book or if this article will be of any help but after reading it I thought it was an interesting topic.

I've been busy, but I wanted to thank you for this link. There is a whole side to our wealth which we forget. I like to write my fiction about the people who are on the underside of society. Ian was crippled in the Yards. His mother died of lung-rot, which she caught in the Yards. His step-father was abusive as a result of the Yards. And his new friend has a father who has dementia and lung-rot despite being a Yard owner. His girlfriend hated the system the Yards created and escaped into the Empire to get away. She returned after her husband died, and saw the planet in which she grew up in an entirely new light. Ian made the system real to her. She was a bit of an idealist (Ian is more pragmatic) and she was executed in part because of her idealism.
