Apple Festival in Ellijay.

575 is what I was thinking, but wasn't sure since I'm so close to Cartersville. Didn't know if it would be quicker to go 75 to Dalton then east.

You could do that, but it'd be Chatsworth, and then you'd have to cross that big mountain to Ellijay. You could take 61 to Cartersville, then hit 20 (at the Cracker Barrel exit) and go to Canton that way and hit 575 there. It's 20 minutes of 2-lane between Cartersville and Canton, but it's not a bad drive, and it's usually not terribly crowded.

DER...shoulda read the entire thread before responding. Cheezy's right on 136...that's one of the prettiest drives in the state. It's just as pretty from there to the Alabama state line, too. Oh, and another LOVERLY drive (not related to your mtn. trip) is that little road coming off Lookout Mountain that comes straight down the mountain and hits 136. LOVERLY!!!

PS - Why did Cheezy link a map to Africa? :D

Have some African Sumatra if you can get your hands on it - that WILL wake you up!

If you've never been to the Apple Festival, it's very much like Paulding Meadows. It's an arts and crafts show, has some of the same vendors. I really didn't know. Next time I'm going to skip the festival and just go get apples. :)

Yup. We go about every other year. If you want better "stuff" there is "Art in the Park" in Blue Ridge every spring and fall. It was this last weekend also. For just plain country flavor, there is the Cherry Log Festival just up the road in Cherry Log,(also last weekend) with only about a dozen booth with local artisans. It also has local musicians playing gospel or bluegrass. The prize there is a country breakfast and lunch served every day during the festival in the community center.

I am about 10 minutes from Red Top Mtn Rd, where it hits 61 just south of Cartersville. Since I'll have BabyB, this may be the way.

My friend will not miss church Sunday, and my parents will be here Saturday. It'll be around noon when we get there.... Unless we go later.

Go buy your apples or hang around the apple stores before you go to the festival. They have all kinds of cool stuff in those places.
