There are good questions and answers are at the end of this article. There are a few who still argue that the Integrated Math is the best way but it seems they are far out numbered by those who believe Traditional Math is best. I tests at the end of this school year will be very telling and will most likely prove that integrated math for most students does not work. JMO

The news story I'm prodivind a link for made one important comment I feel has been overlooked by our educators. Those who take traditional math do better on the ACT than those who take integrated math because the math on the ACT is is traditional based.

It only stands to reason that the SAT is traditional math as well.

Here's an interesting article as well that shows those who take traditional math score better than those taking integrated math.

The bottom line is this; how can teachers teach students integrated math when they don't understand it themselves? How can we help our students with their math homework when we don't have a clue to what this integrated math is? Integrated math has set our students up for failure.

I agree with you. I think the test results this year will prove that you are right too. I feel so sorry for the students, parents, and teachers who have had to suffer though another failed experiment.

Having teachers who took traditional math throughout high school and college is like having someone who cooks at McDonald's teach gourmet cooking.
