Afghanistan - This seems less than ideal.

Here is a timeline of recent events:

  • Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 – Taliban forces have seized the provincial capitals of Farah, (the capital of Afghanistan’s Farah province), and Pul-e-Khumri, (the capital of Baghlan province).
  • Monday, August 9th, 2021 – Taliban fighters took control of the city of Aybak, Afghanistan, which is the provincial capital of the Samangan province.
  • Sunday, August 8th, 2021 – The Taliban captured the provincial capitals Kunduz, Sar-i-Pul, Taliqan.
  • Saturday, August 7th, 2021 – The Taliban announced that they had taken control of the city of Sheberghan.
  • Friday, August 6th, 2021 – The Taliban seized the city of Zaranj.

The US military is helping to clear out US citizens from Kabul. The NSA briefed Biden Thursday morning and he gave the order for evacuation.

Knew this was going to happen as soon as they said "pullout the troops". Just like I remember Nam happening. The North army was right behind us as we pulled out.

Good people in these countries don't seem to have the willpower to fight for their freedom.

I fear that a majority of people in this country will not either. :(

Wife and I were talking about this the other night.

What if another WWII situation happened, would our men and women line up to defend this country like they did decades ago?

I fear they would not. Too many have been taught to hate the USA.

I'm just concerned that they have been taught that the "Government" or the "other people" will take care of all the problems and therefore they have no obligation to help.

The left is making us ripe for takeover.
 
I would have to disagree. Remember how "we" united after 9/11? The same would happen if our Motherland was under attack. Now I'm not saying people would line up to serve in another Nam or Desert Storm conflict, but they would to protect the Good Ole' US of A. Plus you have all the veterans who may not "sign back up" but who would gladly serve in any way they could.

I hope you are right, even it's a civil war against the socialists.

I have my doubts that the young people would.
