Some of my Son's education loans are /were at Wells Fargo. All his other finance activities didn't take near as long each month as attempting to fix the latest Well Fargo screwup on those two accounts.
When he had the cash to pay off the first of the loans, they told him that he had to go through this convoluted payoff system to get *permission* to pay it off early. He's my boy... he got PO'd and sent them the current balance less $1.00. Then when the next statement came in, he paid the amount + fifty cents.
They about had a corporate heart attack. He gets a personal CALL, a CALL, about the 37 cents that he ended up overpaying. He was nice to the girl, and told her his grief was with her bosses, who he then called idiots and morons, knowing that they joined the line. After discussing the idiot process to get payoff, he told her she was welcome to transfer the 37 cents to his other loan or spend $2.00 to send him a check for said 37 cents, he didn't care either way. He also pointed out that this call to discuss it had cost Wells Fargo at least $4 in time and maybe as much as $25 depending on how much she made and hour and how much her boss was paid since he was listening too. As their conversation ended, he wished her a great day and better job in the future.
He speaks English and Sarcasm.
