...but this one seems to be growing legs with more and more sites picking up on it and more and more information coming in. For quite some time, Big Solar has been trying to build a gigantic (9000 acre) $5 billion government subsidized solar power station and solar cell manufacturing plant in Clark County Nevada. A Chinese company, ENN, has purchased the Laughlan Nevada area land (below appraised value). They ran into environmental problems and must use set-asides of other lands to offset their environmental harm to native plants and animals. This is called offsite mitigation. That area must remain undisturbed as long as the environmental harm continues at the plant site. The area they chose for offsite mitigation is the Golden Butte area.

Here's a little verified background that should make you steamed. Harry Reid's son, Rory, is the lobbyist for ENN Solar. ENN is based in Langfang China. ENN paid for Harry Reid to tour their energy plant in Langfang China in 2011. Since then, both Reids have been personally active in trying to get the Nevada project completed. The acting director of the Bureau of Land Management is Neil Kornze, a former Reid senior policy adviser. Did I mention that the Golden Butte land chosen for offsite mitigation is adjacent to the BLM land that Clive Bundy has been grazing? Did I mention that the BLM mentioned this fact in a memo rationalizing kicking Bundy''s cattle off the property?

Like I said, I'm no big conspiracy theorist, but Reid using the BLM to further his personal financial interests is not so far fetched. It is quite likely that nobody would know if the whole thing didn't go viral.

One of the reasons that this country will not make it, is allowing foreign governments or their people to own land or companies in the US.
We have sold our souls, along with our country, for money.
 
Now the pieces are falling into place, I knew there had to be more to the story but just wasn't familiar with the background. Now I can be certain this will not end well for the rancher.

The one piece I was having trouble putting together was why now. Why after 20 years of undisturbed "illegal" grazing does the BLM suddenly have to use the Federal Domestic Army to gather up a few hundred head of stray cattle and bring their owner to "justice" at the risk of dozens of innocent lives?

From the BLM Memo:
Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle.

And there it is.
 
This, and I would be shocked if it WASN'T true, is just another example of the most corrupt administration in this nation's history. The IRS scandal being the one that steams me the most at the moment, but they have a tendency to one-up the pot as each day passes.

No one on the planet will be happier than I will the day that bunch boards their helicopter for their Hawaii compound. I literally despise the very sight of any of them and all those associated with them, from the top all the way to the bottom.

Apparently the Sheriff has brokered a deal where the BLM will stop the roundup and will "share the proceeds" of the sale of the cattle already in their possession with Bundy. The deal does involve the "immediate withdrawal" of BLM enforcement personnel from the area surrounding the Bundy ranch.
 
So now I have more things to take issue with in this whole thing.

That family is still absolutely wrong but ... if the 20+ years of battle is ended in this way because of the solar farm, that pisses me off. If it is not because of the solar farm, just because somebody finally said enough is enough, I don't love the method but I support the goal.

I really do hate that our citizens have to be so suspicious of our government all the time. I know it is always good to question our "leaders" but the fact that we have so much real reason to be concerned just makes me sick.

The details seem to depend on the news source. Other sources report the BLM pull out was because of safety. The split of proceeds seems to be consistent through the sources.

Sure hope to see two things going forward ... 1.) NO solar panels in the area in question. 2.) All past fees brought current by Mr. Bundy and then no more grazing on the land or staying current with all fees.
 
I just read one article where the BLM released 100 of Bundy's cattle back to him.

I read an article last night stating the BLM had quit financing the sanctuary for the desert tortoise and had killed more than 100 of them. I wonder now if the reason for no longer funding the safety of the tortoise was because of the proposed solar plant?

Everything is quite fluid right now. The only thing that is certain is that armed Federal Officers are exiting the area and the Sheriff has effectively taken control of the situation. The Sheriff and the head of the BLM have confirmed the Federal stand down and asked all protesters to exit the area peacefully. The BLm said that they will go back to the courts in an attempt to recover grazing fees.

Early reports this morning had stated that unarmed protesters on horseback numbering around one hundred were moving toward an area thought to be where the BLM was holding the cattle. It was apparently clear that the standoff was going to come to some conclusion one way or another. Thankfully, cooler heads have prevailed, at least for now. The governor issued a short statement thanking the BLM for "listening to the voices of the people of Nevada".
 
The photos I saw of the people on horseback were armed and were backed by 300 to 400 more armed protestors. The Sheriff and his people are badly out numbered as well as the BLM by protestors and they are several hundred still enroute from outside the state. The Sheriff did not get involved until this morning. I'm guessing when he saw the Instate Hwy had come to a halt with protestors and more coming, it was a self preservation move at this point.

Sadly, this is far from over and when the media goes away, BLM will be back.

Oh, as for concessions in this, it's like the weather report, every news station has a different story.

Another interesting article on the incestuous relationship between Rory, Harry, ENN, and the lands sold to ENN. ENN paid $4.5 million for formerly public land worth $38.6 million. Rory's firm, a "law firm" that obviously sells public influence as their main source of income, gave over $40 thousand to Reid's campaign and brokered the land deal.

no wonder so many AMERICAN "clean energy" companies are going bankrupt, members of Congress are helping foreign companies get the work!
 
I've been telling you guys for a long time that congress and the White House are getting their orders from somebody besides us. That's really the only explanation for the stuff they do.

I read an interesting article today about the time Obama was a law "professor" in Chicago and how he got the job. I'll see if I can find it again and post a link to it.

I agree with you about they're getting their orders from somebody. My gut says George Soros is involved in some way.
