Winter Vehicle Prep

My husband got out the winter prep things for our vehicles on saturday. Things like long handled scrapers and he carries a bag of coveralls, boots, etc b/c he has to be at work no matter the weather. Me, I stay off the roads when there is any kind of winter weather now.

Do you prep your vehicle with winter things?
 
I avoid driving in bad weather, too. We generally keep a couple of blankets in the trunk just in case. We have so little really cold weather that I think we just kinda forget about it down here.
 
I carry a lot of emergency stuff year 'round. About the only thing I add in the winter is a coat.
 
I have a nice window scraper but that's the only winter tool, other than a coat or blanket, I keep in the car.

What else should I keep in there?
 
I have my blankets, my jackets and my tire chains. I ready to rock-n-roll, just not down an embankment please. :faint
 
I have a cell phone and hope that is all I need. Our winters have been so mild lately, that I am going to get lazy on that stuff and get into some big trouble. I just hope I always have cell coverage!!!

The hubby keeps telling me that we're going to have a rough winter. I personally don't know, but, in the event that bad weather is predicted, the hubby does the driving.

Girlfriend get some stuff in that car! I doubt we have a mild one this year.

This past winter was a mild one, however I think I remember the first or second week of 2011, being frozen in for a week.

I had to go to work in that mess. We could only get in & out of our driveway using 4 wheel drive for a week.

Marc usually takes our car in & has everything checked before the first really cold snap, but I'm gonna remind him. :)
 
We do get the car, itself, winterized. I just don't keep stuff in the car ICE. This year, I will rectify that.
