Will Town Center Mall survive?

I don’t think Malls as we once knew them will survive. They will probably reappear as Flea Markets or maybe Lofts. I miss walking through malls and seeing all the different shops and watching people move about.
Times they are a changing

I think the sales model is just too expensive and outdated. The big attraction to a mall was being able to go and check out multiple stores when wanting to buy something. Now I just do that on line.

It will be bulldozed and 1000 apartments put in it's place. That land is hugely valuable. Esp with its location near KSU.

What drew people to malls was the plethora of different types of shops and stores. Nearly anything you needed was there in one place. Then they slowly started to mutate into trendy boutiques and shoe stores. Once Radio Shack and the Pet Stores, etc left, the malls days were numbered.

I loved me some Radio Shack!

I remember when Cumberland opened. That was just the coolest place. Food courts were new, and the variety of shops was tremendous. I did my Christmas shopping there for probably 15 years. The Magic Pan is still one of the most unique mass market food experiences ever.

Dang...you old!

:D

I don't even know when it opened but I'm guessing it was a long time ago.
:D I'm so old I remember going to visit a friend who lived in a lovely old home on a narrow country road in the wooded hills off a 2 lane US 41 that would probably be about where the Sears Auto Center was built.
