a "Dallas Hwy" float in the Dallas Christmas parade?

The theme is All American Christmas
 
I'm afraid GD will want to wear his American flag thong and I just want no part of unleashing that mess on my community.
 
I have no time for that, but would love to see a DallasHwy float. :thumbsup (and I agree with UM, you MUST have rules for GD)

i could do it but i would have to be on the float in my old marching band uniform its a real patriot uniform i come complete with a sword too

No one can say I'm not a patriot.

Ok, seriously....I think this is a great idea and I can help with some supplies, a place to make the float, maybe a little $$. We need someone to be in charge of it. Hmmm, did someone nominate UM?


Oh and....I think GC's Vette would be a good platform to build on.
 
I think someone should step up and do this!!! If I still lived there I would be all :hiya. I did it for three years, 1st yr we won 2nd place. Determined we won 1st place (corporate) the next year. Other members on here were very much involved, and the joy we had not only with our team work, BUT the joy of the donations we raised for a few local groups as well

kittycat could prolly answer that. I do believe Jeff kept the fireplace in storage and used it for the Holidays for many years. Speaking of that fine piece of fireplace work, a very nice local company in Dallas not only constructed it free of charge, but also let us use their warehouse the night before the parade to put the finishing touches on the float. Fine folks I tell ya :thumbsup
 
I was asking to get everyone's thoughts before I volunteered to head it up but if UM wants to do it go for it. I just saw what the theme was and wondered if we should do one since the "other site" has done it before. I love the Dallas Christmas parade and love being in it. I love giving candy to the kids and seeing those sweet smiling faces.
 
While appreciative of the vote of confidence (or lunacy) I am going to have to decline to head up the float/parade effort. There is simply no way that I could give it the focus and attention that it needs and deserves. Plus, I'm already committed to the 4H Horse & Pony club for the parade ... the young lady is riding "her" miniature horse in it.
