What does Jesus look like?

LisaC

I'm here to spin the moral compass.
Stradial made a comment about God transforming... So, what do you think Jesus looks like?

I googled and found this from various sites:
I didn’t see Him in his traditional garments; instead I saw Him sitting in a
wheelchair with a blanket over His legs. There was suppose to be an elderly man
sitting there, but instead it was the Lord. As I looked across the room, all I
could see was Jesus. I saw Jesus in the place of all the people. He wore a
nurse’s uniform. He sat in a chair where there was a lady supposed to have sat.
I could not see anyone’s face. I only saw the Lord.

The Bible never gives any physical description of Christ. The closest thing we
get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us
to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us
is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man's – He was
ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant
would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty,
making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith.

The New Testament never gives a physical description of Jesus. What do you think he looks like?

In 2002, Popular Mechanics, published an article entitled, “The Real Face of Jesus.” In it, researchers and experts weighed in about what someone living during Jesus’ time in the Middle East would have looked like. After analyzing skulls from those residing in Jerusalem and using computer technology, remains were reconstructed.

I think this is much closer than many pictures we have seen.

God sent me a picture of Jesus, but you know me....I can't figure out how to get it to attach or post or whatever you call it.
Sorry.

Crap!
Where were you when I had the picture?

Jesus doesn't look like anything. Now that He is no longer here (but is standing at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us - see Romans 8 ), He is in Spirit form, and therefore, has no physical attributes. Likewise, the Holy Spirit, Who was sent by the Father to be with us here on earth until His return, is in Spirit form as well.

That is a correct answer, BUT if you were to put physical attributes to Jesus, what would they be?

He'd look like the average Jew, not great-looking (as Is. 53 says), but with kind eyes, laugh lines, a fantastic smile, capable hands (carpenter).

But what about the folks that have had near death encounters with Jesus? I'm thinking specifically about the little boy who was able to give a very vivid description of what Jesus looked like to him in the encounter.

No idee. Maybe he didn't really see Jesus...maybe it was just some dude in his memory that came up after his near-death experience. Or maybe Jesus wanted to reveal Himself to him that way. IDK.

I don't know what Jesus looks like, but God looks an awful lot like George Burns.
