We received a verbal acceptance

We had to act on the 30-day closing extension due to a few pricing quotes for the new home. They’re required before an appraisal can be ordered and we expect it to take a minimum of two weeks once ordered. Everything is is on schedule including the completion of a successful perc test. The best news is that lumber prices appear to have peaked and are somewhat falling, at least for now.

We know a young couple who is having the same house built, the foundation was formed yesterday and they welcomed us to come by to check on progress so we can have an idea of what to expect.
 
If all goes well the Queen and I will be Paulding county property owners tomorrow afternoon. Our closing is scheduled for noon tomorrow and the wire transfer was completed today. We’re both excited as this is the first step towards building our retirement home. See you around…neighbor, make room for another West Cobber.

We closed on the property today so now we’re official property owners in Paulding county. It all went smooth and we really liked the lady who sold us the property. She was so happy that we agreed to renew the conservation covenant for another 10 years, she said her mother would be happy to know a developer didn’t get it for a subdivision. I told her she was welcomed to visit anytime, that she didn’t need an invitation.
 
Congrats. I wish sometimes we had more land than we do. If you need any help with removing deer from the property in the fall, let me know. :)
