US Postal Service Seeking to Hike Cost of First-Class Stamp to 73 Cents

Yeah, had a letter mailed to my PIL on Jan 31st. Went to their old address and was forwarded to us. We got it last week.

I can't mail a bill any more and get it there on time, so we have pretty much stopped using the Post office.

At this rate we will need to mail our Christmas Cards in October.
 
The delivery of mail is def concerning to me, especially since you still have to mail checks for car payoffs over a certain amount. We sent a check to Kia to pay off our car and now we play the waiting game. There has got to be a better way to pay off a car loan that mailing a check. Even car dealerships have to mail a check to pay off a car you trade in. Seems like a wire or something would be more efficient.

I ended up spending the $32 to Fedex my payoff this week rather than trust the post office to get it there in time.

The post office is going to make themselves obsolete. I do notice that the sales flyers are not getting here after the sales are over, so somehow they manage to get the junk mail here on time. :(

Yeah we should have used something else but Kia even said once they get the check it can take 3-5 days to process. Yet another reason why the physical check process should be obsolete.

UPDATE: Guess they got the check as the loan shows paid off this morning. Woooooo!
