I feel the same way. I even stated that to someone who promptly unfriended me on FB. I just feel that Trump has really done more damage then anything to the party.

I just wish the debates would focus on the important issues that affect the majority of Americans.

The debates focus too much on gotchas and picking apart everything you ever said at any time in your life.

I do not blame Trump at all for any damage to the Republican party. The republican party has damaged, alienated, disenfranchised people all on their own. Before Trump threw in his hat.

I agree about the gotcha questions. Those are the ones that the "debates" focus on. While I also agree that the GOP has done it's own damage to the party, I think Trump has used that to his advantage, and continued it.
