I keep forgetting that you're a more literal person so I have to be careful. I know you aren't on the latest fad whatever. I've just surprised with some of what we've talked about with food that you eat tofu/soy. Hearing now that it is a sometimes and not a primary makes sense with what you've said in the past though. :)

;D LOL. I am literal! You know that. :))

People should be very aware of what they are eating. About 90% of soy here in the US is now modified. You really do have to look.

Hank ... ROFL!

Sadie ... where have you been that you haven't had a buffalo burger yet? Girl, you need to get out from under that rock a bit more.
i have had it before.. I just need to get one soon
it is the only kinda burger that I will eat that isn't beef

I can't eat beef anymore unfortunately. Where you getting this buffalo burger? And I wonder if it would have the same effects on me since it is still red meat.

And you know what, I bet that has something to do with the other issues. It would be interesting to see if they did the same studies with GMO and non-GMO soy ... would the results be any different?

I think the literal thing with you is where so many conversations here go wrong. People misunderstand where you're coming from with stuff and you take things differently. I know I've had to stop on more than one occasion and remind myself that it's you. lol

I would bet the results would be! I know they did one with GMO corn vs non GMO corn and that it was vastly different. I never thought of that before.

I have cooked with it before and it was terrible. Lol But that was years ago. I love it, if I don't make it, but I don't eat it often due to the reasons UM listed.

But I cannot lie. If I go to Willy's, I will get a tofu burrito with black beans, rice, cheese, and lettuce. As well as a small side of corn salsa. I will eat every.single.disgusting.bite. And then I'll feel like puking for an hour, but it will be worth it. Yum.

Did you see the picture that was going around on facebook with the squirrel feeder results with GMO and non-GMO corn?

Hey panda ... you want GMO labels on stuff? If you're eating tofu it probably should have a GMO label on it. ;)

Not all! There are many organic Tofu's.

True story. Imma go that route...I've been reading about it.

I think some of information out there is true, especially if you have thyroid issues, but I also believe some is not. You have to remember I did not eat any meat until I was 20/21 and so I had to get protein somewhere. I do not overdo it, but I do not overdo anything. I think anything in moderation is fine and I do believe that especially with soy (now) that you need to pay for the non-GMO.

Well said, chica. I do have thyroid issues, but from what I've read, if I don't go overboard and eat it every day or something, I should be fine.

Agreed. It's not "heavy" like beef. And had such a good flavor to it.

Paper straws? How the heck does that work? Do they that nasty waxy stuff around them?

idk.. if I use them I tell them to leave me 3 or 4 because I have to change them out..I find it easier to take my own if I know I am going
