Tips on Beating The Heat

Particularly on a day like today "they" say you should be looking at a minimum of consuming as many ounces of water you your weight in pounds. So ... if you weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water. There is some dispute on this figure as a daily intake but on days like today that should be your minimum if you have any outside exposure.
No way I could drink that much water, but I am also hiding out inside. I am not out in that heat!

Most people can't just jump in and drink that much but if you're outside at all in this, that should be your minimum goal.

And wee, wee, wee all the way home.

It's what the body needs ... it's what the body wants.

And it's easier than you think once you get started. Just replace all the other stuff you drink through the day with water. Most people simply will not do it all of the time. There's a reason we have such a huge beverage market in this country. But when it is 100+ degrees and you need to be out in it, that's something that you can do. (Just be sure to start well before you need to actually be out in it.)

As for peeing a lot ... you're supposed to. If you're only peeing a couple times a day, you're doing it wrong. :))

What UM said. I can't not drink water. I drink it all day long. I've been in the car a lot today, so I'm behind on my intake, lol. Even when I wake up, the first thing I do is drink a glass of water just before I get my coffee.

Also, if your pee is dark you need water. Pee is supposed to be almost clear. Just thought I'd point that out. LOL

I didn't wanna get too graphic earlier, but absolutely correct.

My coffee will never be replaced or people will die. :dunno

Amen, girl. I once stopped drinking coffee - made it a couple of days until the people I work with told me to NEVER try giving it up again.

:thumbsup My family does not talk to me in the mornings until they have heard me make coffee. They give it a little time then come out! :laugh

Not one time is three pages did I see anyone suggesting a dip in GD's pool. You folks were too obsessed with your pee.

He won't. Go for it!

It is 105 in my backyard and my pool is 95. Not much cooling off. :(

I may like my water but I'm not insane ... coffee still is an absolute must. (That of course also means the need for more water to offset the coffee but it is soooooooooooooooo worth it to me and those around me.)
