made me wonder........ How did you meet your better half?

Here is my story.

When Kat was 9 her BFF's father had this friend. Kat and her BFF decided that if they introduced us- they'd get to spend more time playing together. So, they did. We married 3 years later. Kat did not realize that would result when she helped introduce us. We all went to counseling because it was just not working with the hatred she developed towards hubster. 14 years later- she introduces him as her Dad, had him come to some Dr appointments when she was preggers with Grand and he was in the delivery room with me and Grand's daddy. I swear they really are father and daughter as they like a lot of the same things (that I don't like). She now has him completely wrapped around her little finger. :love

I used to play a lot of tennis. One of the guys on my team came up after practice one evening, and after dancing around the topic (he was pretty nervous) he asked if I'd like to come to their house and meet someone. I think his wife put him up to it.

Met Mrs. Mac at a dinner party they hosted, and got married a bit over a year later.

He gave a very nice speech at our reception.

So sweet! Kat's BFF's Daddy was our best man.

That is precious and a great testimony of where faith, perserverance, and determination will get you.

I met my husband of 32 years in college. I had just broken up with a long-time boyfriend and was feeling a little down and out. A mutual friend of ours talked me into going to a little bar in Rome called Shannons and I had no idea what he had up his sleeve but all of a sudden my future husband was sitting next to me at our table and we talked like we had known each other all of our lives. My husband played baseball on our college team and he invited me to his game the next day. After the game, we went to one of his frat parties, talked until 6:00 in the morning and the rest is history. Not only is he a wonderful husband, he is also my best friend and I call talk to him about anything. I am looking forward to at least another 32 years with him!

:love

I love these stories. BB, that's how it was for MrB and I... We talked for a million years that night.

We worked together.

Back in our restaurant days...I was promoted and transferred to a location as the general manger. "She who adores me' was the 1st assistant. It just kinda happened.

Word got out and the big boss wasn't too happy. "She who adores me" was moved to a different store.

GD, my parents met that way. LOL Sort of... He was a cook, she was a waitress and had really never talked. One night that Daddy was off, he came in to eat with friends, late night. I think they worked at a 24 hour place. Anyway, mom was working and had to serve him. He'd been drinking and as she was bringing out their food, Dad told Mom he liked her boobs; they were big. She dumped his food in his lap and told her boss to fire her for it or do something about it. :laugh
It was the mid/late 70s. Lol
They'll have been married 33 years this September. LOL

I was 16 working at Kmart. After being there about a month I kept seeing this guy but he never would speak to me. So I started asking around about him to find out his age cause I thought for sure he was in his 20's. He finally spoke to me and we talked here and there at work for a few weeks and he finally asked me out. 26 years later here we are. Be married 22 years Aug. 25th.

I like to kid people and tell everyone I was working at kmart and across the store I saw this blue light flashing and there he was..working the blue light special.....I bought him at the blue light :laugh :laugh

That's funny!! I guess it can pay to be a crude male pig. LOL

My hubby was dating my best friend when I met him. And he was a dog!! He told me that they had broken up and he asked me out. I said no. When I saw my BFF later that night, I asked how she was doing since they had broken up. She said they had not and wanted to know where I heard it. When I told her it came from him, she confronted him, and dropped him like a hot potato. He and I didn't start dating until about 3 months later - it took me that long to agree to go out with him.

I moved in next door to a group of really red neck construction workers. I had just left Chicago after living there 18 years...........I'd hide when I came home on Friday nights, those guys were all over the yard sitting on buckets and drinking beer!!

After months of knocking on my door, me telling the kids to say I was busy or sleeping, one night I decided, what the heck?? I was bored, the kids were at my sisters and I wanted to go somewhere so I went and got him. We went to some hole in the wall bar in Marietta and I guess the rest is history. Just celebrated 26 years in May.

I met him in London, actually Birmingham, at our annual sales meeting. I was smoking outside (yuck!!) and I was freezing. He gave me his coat. At 6:30am they kicked us out of the hotel lobby because they had to set up breakfast for our group. I took him back to my room, we slept for an HOUR, and he had to make the walk of shame back to his hotel in his tuxedo from the night before.

His boss saw him the next day and said, "Dude, you look like you need a pint of blood." I didn't look any better. It made for a very long day.
