The Lady Would Not Take Responsibility

Jennifer and I made a trip to Augusta today. While there, I was driving through a parking lot and some woman about 30 starts backing out in front of me, not looking for anyone coming (she was too busy talking on her cell) I stopped quickly and as I start to hit the horn she hits us. We were in Jennifer's car.

I get out and ask, "Don't you look to see if anyone is coming before you back out?" She then said it was my fault because I was "going too fast" and because of that she couldn't see me. Huh? We called the Richmond County Sheriff's office and they sent out a deputy. She tells him she didn't see me because I was going to fast. I then asked her, "If you didn't see me, how could you tell if I was driving too fast or not?"

To top it all off, she then begins to say her neck was causing her a lot of pain. What a lying sack of ...

Did the police realize who was at fault?

No. He said either one of our explanations sounded plausible so, he was going to write the report as "fault undetermined."

I had a woman try that one time. The officer went and stood where she should have stopped and looked. He said lady, if you had looked you would have seen her. Here's your sign (ticket).

Call your insurance company immediately and advise them of the facts including the fact that she is feigning injury. Don't wait for the police report.

Did you have any witnesses?

We called Jennifer's insurance company before the deputy arrived and then after he left and gave them all the info.

if it is in a parking lot it is considered private property and they do not have to really take ownership...sad but true. The same thing happened to us. Thankfully my dd had hit the record button on her cell phone and got the dude telling me this and even though he did it I couldn't prove it

thats when my hubby pointed to the phone and told him to smile... My car got fixed ..$over $700 in damages so I was glad I didn't have to fix that.

My dd was see mom, aren't you glad I got a cell phone now lol

hope it all gets straightened out
