The lady next door

I first told you a about my neighbor when we moved in and she called the cops on us. SHe has since apologized and try to catch us and talk to us now every time she see's us. Well today was no different, While I was at the mail box she says" hey young lady" we chitchat and she tells me my house is cursed and to beware...The proceeded to tell me about the "Darkies" that use to live here. I just was like ummmm She is in her 80's so I am not gonna start a fight with her.

Thankfully the hubster worked from home today and called me in for a phone call. I was telling him about our talk and he said yeah, she said Darkies to me to when talking about our berry bush in the yard.

So basically I live across the street from a red hatted, police on speed dial, racist that drives us sometimes crazy...lol

ANyway I was taking the trash out and my beside me neighbor was outside in the back yard telling me he other stories on this lady. He is a nice black guy and he just chuckles at her. His wife came out and said she gave her hubby the nick name darkie... all I could say was bless his heart

Like I said she is in her 80's so she grew up that way... that is also what the family next door said and that they can and only will be nice to her to prove her wrong
 
Sounds like your next door neighbors are cool!! Poor old lady across the street. Only you Sadie, only you!! :laugh

Awwwwwwww...we love people with a sense of humor!!! Bless their hearts, indeed. I don't think I have EVER heard anyone use that word, and my Daddy was older than her. But you are in Villa Hicka. ;)

A person is never too old to get an education. You're much more tolerate of that crap than I am. I do respect my elders but I don't respect ignorance like that.

Yeah, my grandmother (mean old biotch) didn't even say that. She used the N word. Needless to say- she was told not to come to my wedding and my mother's funeral. Oh, she was the MIL. After years of pleading with her to stop using the word, I just gave up. No visits- just the periodic call. Did I say she was a mean old biotch?
 
Yep, I will not tolerate it, I will not deal with it. "They lived in a different time" is a BS cop out.

That is what she always said. I told her that she was gonna get shot saying it. She looked at me as if I were the stupidest person alive and laughed. Biotch

My poopaw used to use the n word but I told him if he wanted me to bring my baby around he would stop saying it and he did.

I realize they grew up with those terms being acceptable and all I can say is PRAISE GOD I did not.
