The drums of war are beating

Some democrats think this may be a Wag the Dog moment. But I say something big is on the horizon and folks need to wake up. Radical Islam is a danger to each and every one of us.

The U.S. will move a Patriot missile battery into the Middle East to counter threats from Iran, the Pentagon said Friday, reflecting ongoing concerns that Tehran may be planning to attack America forces or interests in the region.

U.S. officials announced Sunday that they would rush an aircraft carrier strike group and bombers to the region. The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and accompanying ships have passed through the Suez Canal and are now in the Red Sea.

Not sure of the accuracy, but I read somewhere that missle strikes in Israel are way up, and the media won't report it.

Iran is flexing their muscles with Donald trying to continue pressure with their nuclear program enforcing heavy sanctions.

Hassan Rouhani said he would keep enriched uranium stocks in the country rather than sell them abroad.

He also threatened to resume production of more-highly-enriched uranium in 60 days if other signatories did not act to protect Iran from US sanctions.

The 2015 accord was aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions in return for relief from sanctions.

But since the US left the deal it has imposed new sanctions, hitting Iran's economy and raising Iran-US tensions.

Iran does not have the military capability to defeat the US, nor the capability to sustain itself very long in a war involving the US. Saudi Arabia hates Iran and has feared for years the Iranians would form some attack on them in the Gulf. The Iranians are most likely banking on Russia to come to their aid if there is a conflict with the US.

The Muslims will continue to fire off rockets towards Israel, then whine and produce massive amounts of media propaganda showing children killed by Israel when Israel retaliates. It makes me sick. I'm looking forward to the destruction of the Dome of the Rock and the rebuilding of the Temple. It's going to usher in some real news when that day comes. Maybe Trump has a divine calling after all.

It's bound to happen sooner or later, why keep delaying the match that's already been scheduled?

IMO... a global recession is on the horizon... albeit the USA seems pretty solid for a while (whether we make it past the 2020 election before a recession is felt by the masses, is a question not answered yet)...

Anyhow... when the global economy slows down...
Countries tend to attempt to 'cheat' sanctions (well, more so than they are doing now)... to make money (sell goods to countries that are not supposed to be able to buy then... or buying from a country that is not supposed to be able to sell to anyone). It is a cat/mouse game.

I suspect this is gonna be a 'show of force' thingy... where each side shows off their military toys and each side rattles their sabres...
While the negotiators are behind the scenes resolving the issues...
We may or may not hear what the negotiators end up with...
We will see...

One thing... I am glad we live in a country that is shielded by oceans on each side...
While it is not impossible for the USA to 'feel' military conflict on our soil...
It is not as likely as if we shared a land border with a country as radical and aggressive as some...
Thank the Lord for not so small favors...

It's not a matter of "if", but "when" a global recession hits. I suspect it will be worse than the 1920's and if you study history, people who stayed calm made a lot of money, but folks who began to panic were wiped out. World War 2 was brought on, partially because of the economic depression. Who knows for sure? But I do see trouble on the horizon.

The folks I read (private, subscription, paid newsletters)...
Sorry, cannot post any of it... :(

Suggest it is not gonna be a fall off the cliff event...
Rather a slow and protracted slide into a nether world of strange finance.

And I have read predictions of a world wide 'reset'...
Where lots of folks figure out how to 'swap debt' and clear the books.... please do not ask me how that is supposed to work...
All I know is it is based on many levels of derivatives... which are financial instruments that move based on the movement of something they are tied to... leverage if you will.

Regardless... the go-go days we experienced the last few years... are probably coming to an end...
With a long and soft economic growth pattern in the future.

Tighten your belt, and watch your investments...

Trade tensions with China have rocked the stock markets. The DOW is off by over 500 points this morning... The one thing Trump has going for him is a strong economy, if this economy begins to show some signs of instability, his re-election chance may be jeopardized. We'll see if this is only a bump in the road or if there's a recession/depression on the horizon. Stay tuned.

IMO there is no question as to whether there is a recession in the future...
The questions are:
*When
*How severe
*Who gets hurt (not all sectors and not all classes of income get hurt in a recession).

And as always:
The party outside the WH wants to kill the economy before the election...
The party inside the WH wants to prop it up until after the election.

IMO...
Given the recession IS GOING TO HAPPEN... just a matter of timing...
It just does not make any sense to elect a flaky liberal who will hurt America...
Just because the punch-bowl at the party is not overflowing with liqueur that is gonna give you a whopper of a headache when you finally come down... :)

As my grandfather used to say (and many others): Trees don't grow to unlimited heights. Same can be said about the stock market, it doesn't rise to unlimited levels. The great news is that doesn't fall to an unlimited abyss level either. It's all about what's in your portfolio, mine is actually slightly up today somehow.

I was just thinking the same thing last night as I was watching CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News.

This is always a tough situation. No one wants war, but we can't allow another country to attack us either.

So we'll have to smack them back, I just hope the UN will back us on it.
