Summers Sees Worst US Macroeconomic Policy in 40 Years

Summers is a conundrum. He is probably one of the best economic researchers in the world, but he can take his own results and come up with the most cockamamie conclusions and recommendations I've ever seen. He is a smart man though, and it's hard to argue with him here.

Administration officials have pushed back against the critique, saying the Biden bill aims to provide relief to those in need...
It provided relief for more than those in need. I really didn't need the stimulus money. It's sitting in the bank and will probably stay there for quite awhile.

Yeah, we didn't get any, but that's Ok, because we didn't need it. My mom and and PIL both got it and the PIL needed it, so that was good.

The stimulus is giving money to people who weren't affected by the pandemic. I'm good with a $300 kicker in the unemployment, money for vaccinations, and $850 million to hire new teachers at a time when classes are shrinking. Just kidding about that last part, but it's in there.
