Just for fun... imagine all of the grocery stores were empty of food tomorrow,
what do you have in the pantry right now to survive over the next 30 days ? ? ?
 
30 days? Ummm...I'd look like my avatar if I had to survive 30 days with what I've got in the kitchen.

We actually have a pretty good stash of food since I use coupons. Right now, I have several boxes of pasta, plenty of canned food, and my freezer is full. I think we could make it a few months and be okay. But, the big problem will be COFFEE. I have about a two-week supply... After that, someone will surrender their coffee!! ;D
 
We've got a pretty good stash in the pantry plus some MRE's in the basement.
When all that is gone... gonna hafta start hunting for venison, rabbits, squirrels.


Blowguns and crossbows will be handy... :)) :)) :))
 
You know, I've thought about this some. We have about 10 days of food and distilled water, along with 20 gallons of gasoline in cans and more in the boat and truck. We have 4 20 lb. bottles of propane, and two 30 lb. bottles in the trailer. We have the fifth wheel and a full set of camping equipment for the two of us. My thoughts are that the most likely disaster, natural or otherwise, that can hit this area is an ice storm. That would make my most dangerous enemy the woods I live in.

Very true... we are still stocked up with firewood and
several cases of duraflame logs from that last ice storm.

We were trapped in the neighborhood for five days... :eek:
 
They have been filming a new TV series this summer in Wilmington that will start airing mid Sept on NBC, it's called Revolution. The plot is based on a world being permanently disabled from all advanced technolgy and how people are being forced to adapt without. Should be interesting

A show about no technology being shown on TV?? I'll bet you will also be able to stream it on the internet and on your iphone too...
